Tips for Senior Sessions – WHEN
Summer is the perfect time to have your senior session, especially if you are in Fall sports,
or before school starts….schedules get so busy once school starts…not that I don’t take
senior pictures after school starts, I do, it is just a little harder to work into your schedule,
or you might have to miss school.
JUNE SESSION
I know June seems early to have your senior session but really it can be PERFECT
- the weather is usually nice
- all the outdoor sets are fresh and new
- long grassy areas in abundance
- family vacations are usually later in summer
- get it off your summer to do list early
JULY SESSIONS
You have had a little break, been in the sun, ready to do something different, GREAT
- weather is a little warmer, but we go in and out, to stay cooled off
- the outdoor sets are still great
- long grass has been mowed, but can always find some close by
- sport camps are usually over
- summer is half over…time to get senior pictures off your to do list
AUGUST SESSION
Time is getting short, my schedule is crazy, hopefully you scheduled ahead of time
- weather is usually hot, but that’s what airconditioning is for
- outdoor sets still good
- grass is getting trampled down/dry, but still useable
- sport practices start mid August, get your session done before
- families usually try to get away for a vacation
- school starts
SEPTEMBER SESSIONS
I know time just gets away from everyone and you just didn’t get to it.
- might have to miss part of a school day
- weather is getting cooler
- outside areas still available
- busy schedule with school activities
OCTOBER SESSIONS
You want those Fall leaves, which is hard to predict, but the earlier the better can get cold
- more than likely have to miss school
- can’t guarantee when the leaves will turn or when it will snow/get cold
- outdoor sets are put away first week
- mostly indoor images
In reality I can photograph your senior pictures whenever you feel you are ready, ideally
the earlier in the summer the better for more variety, as it gets later in the season there
are limits to areas available to photograph at, and studio schedule is busier.
I hoped I have helped you with the question When? Stay tuned to the blog to get more

DIY idea
My daughter Becky sent me this idea via iPhone. She saw it in Racheal Ray magazine. What a great idea for prom shoes! Or to make any shoes look “designer”.

Makeup Tips & Trends
I know it is Wednesday and not Tuesday for the fashion trend of the week | only a day late | so not bad.
Two trends I have seen posted over and over on fashion blogs/pinterest is liquid eyeliner for the “cat eye” look and red lips. Now the “cat eye” eyes are easy…but choosing the right red lip color can be hard. I would suggest spending a little more money on the lipstick and going to a cosmetic counter to get help with picking the right red for your tones. (or if you want I have red lip color in my makeup kit)
Being intrigued by the liquid eyeliner and cat eye look I have stocked up on false eye lashes and liquid eye liner to play at the end of your senior session. Sorry guys it’s a girl thing!
Just for fun this year besides the accessories and the eyes i have added a professional makeup kit to play up your look on the last outfit if you want.
My theme this year is turning into “I GOT YOU COVERED”. There are no worries with your senior pictures here at the studio. If there is something you want or are looking for in your senior pictures I can probably handle it. My experience is the difference between having your neighbor – mom – sister – friend take your senior pictures.
If you want an amazing senior experience and awesome pictures to share with your friends call the studio to book your session….not sure yet….go to the website and get your questions answered.
PS: if you are a guy…we can do some fun stuff for your session….just not with makeup!

Trendy Tuesday – Accessories
An easy way to change up an outfit during your senior session is to add ACCESSORIES such as SCARVES, JEWELRY, HEADBANDS, SUNGLASSES, HATS etc. I have added an accessories area to the studio camera room…and I have been busy shopping to find a few things for seniors to use during their session. Of course I encourage you to bring your own…but if you forget….I got you covered!
Every Tuesday I will be updating you on the fashion trends I am seeing. You can follow my fashion/style board on Pinterest to get ideas or sign up for senior studio emails here http://www.pamsportraitplace.com/seniors/fashion-tips/ to get the latest FASHION GUIDE for spring and to stay updated on studio specials for senior pictures.
TREND ALERT… I read SOCKS AND SANDLES are back in style…I am not sure if I am crazy about this trend…but a couple tips if you are daring enough to try it..wear them with chunky heels or wedges…knee highs or ruffled/embellished ankle socks….please stay away from wearing socks with hiking sandals or flip flops!
